एनपीसीआई (NPCI) के प्रमुख दिलीप असबे ने कहा है कि यूपीआई (UPI) के लिए बाज़ार-संचालित आर्थिक मॉडल ज़रूरी है। इसमें मर्चेंट डिस्काउंट रेट (MDR) शुल्क भी शामिल होगा। इससे बढ़ते साइबर सुरक्षा, स्केलेबिलिटी और इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर की लागत को पूरा किया जा सकेगा। एसबीआई बैंकिंग एंड इकोनॉमिक्स कॉन्क्लेव में उन्होंने कहा कि 15 अक्टूबर से लागू होने वाले MDR को साइबर खतरों के बढ़ते प्रभाव को देखते हुए लाया गया है।
