Pune Records 8 Suspected Dengue Deaths This Year; PMC Seeks State Review
Hindustan Times · health
Pune has recorded eight suspected dengue deaths between July and October this year, prompting the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to send these cases for a state-level death audit. The review by the state public health department will determine if dengue was the primary cause of death or an incidental finding, especially as some patients had pre-existing health conditions. Officials noted that three of the deceased were from outside Pune but received treatment within the city. The audit will analyze clinical records to confirm the actual number of dengue-attributable fatalities.
