Karnataka minister Satish Jarkiholi defended the deletion of 9.93 million names from the state's electoral roll, stating the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) was conducted correctly. He contrasted this with processes in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Bihar, where the Congress has raised concerns. Jarkiholi clarified that deletions included deceased, shifted, or duplicate voters. The final roll shows 45.5 million voters, down from 55.4 million. The BJP stated Jarkiholi's remarks validate the transparency of the revision process.
