Very Severe Cyclone Arnab Likely To Strike Andhra Pradesh Coast

Cyclone Arnab is expected to make landfall between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam on the Andhra Pradesh coast by the forenoon of October 28. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts it will be a very severe cyclonic storm with sustained winds of 115-125 kmph and gusts up to 140 kmph. The system intensified from a low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and is predicted to move northwestwards. The IMD has issued a pre-cyclone watch for the Andhra Pradesh and adjoining south Odisha coasts.
