भारतीय शेयर बाज़ारों में भारी गिरावट आई, BSE सेंसेक्स 547 अंक और NSE निफ्टी 157 अंक नीचे आ गए। सेंसेक्स दिन के उच्चतम स्तर से लगभग 1200 अंक गिरकर 71,676 पर आ गया, जबकि निफ्टी 22,312 पर पहुँच गया। इस गिरावट के मुख्य कारणों में शुरुआती तेज़ी के बाद मुनाफावसूली, स्थिर डॉलर इंडेक्स के कारण उभरते बाज़ारों पर दबाव और विदेशी निवेशकों की लगातार बिकवाली शामिल है। बाज़ार की अस्थिरता का एक प्रमुख संकेतक, India VIX भी लगभग 7% बढ़ गया।
