Flydubai Co-Pilot Planned to Crash Jet into Israeli Airport

A flydubai co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, allegedly planned to crash the aircraft into Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, according to investigators. He reportedly intended to kill Captain Smit Machchhar in the cockpit before crashing the plane. Al-Hammami chose flydubai specifically for its routes to Israel and had gathered information on previous trips. He also considered crashing the plane into a US military base in Jordan if he could not reach Israel. Australian authorities are examining his background for radicalization, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered a security review.
