IISc Ranks 254 Globally in THE World University Rankings 2027, Leading India

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has secured the 254th position globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027, making it India's highest-ranked institution. India has increased its representation with 143 universities ranked this year. While IISc's research environment score is exceptionally high at 98.0, its teaching and research quality scores indicate room for improvement. The rankings also highlight a significant regional shift, with Asia now having more ranked universities than Europe for the first time.

इंडियन इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ साइंस (IISc) ने टाइम्स हायर एजुकेशन (THE) वर्ल्ड यूनिवर्सिटी रैंकिंग 2027 में वैश्विक स्तर पर 254वां स्थान हासिल किया है, जिससे यह भारत का सर्वोच्च रैंक वाला संस्थान बन गया है। भारत ने इस साल 143 विश्वविद्यालयों को रैंक मिलने के साथ अपना प्रतिनिधित्व बढ़ाया है। जबकि IISc का रिसर्च एनवायरनमेंट स्कोर 98.0 के साथ असाधारण रूप से उच्च है, इसके टीचिंग और रिसर्च क्वालिटी स्कोर में सुधार की गुंजाइश दिखती है। रैंकिंग्स ने एक महत्वपूर्ण क्षेत्रीय बदलाव को भी उजागर किया है, जिसमें एशिया में पहली बार यूरोप से अधिक रैंक वाले विश्वविद्यालय हैं।
