The Karnataka government has issued a final land acquisition notification for 1,895 acres in Ramanagara taluk for the proposed Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township. The Greater Bengaluru Development Authority plans to develop this township under a work-live-play model. The notification identifies 3,271 landowners whose compensation will be determined under the 2013 Act, with an option to receive developed sites instead of monetary compensation. However, the project faces ongoing opposition from farmers who have been protesting for over 18 months against the acquisition.
