A 46-year-old man, Anuj Agarwal, was arrested in Dehradun for allegedly extorting Rs 50,000 from a property dealer by threatening to publish damaging reports. Agarwal, who has multiple criminal cases against him, contacted the complainant, Tanveer Khan, claiming to operate a news platform and demanding Rs 5 lakh. Khan transferred Rs 50,000 before approaching the police with evidence. Investigators recovered three mobile phones and a diary with a concealed compartment used for recording videos, with police now probing if others were also targeted.

देहरादून में 46 साल के एक आदमी, अनुज अग्रवाल को एक प्रॉपर्टी डीलर से 50,000 रुपये की वसूली के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया है। उसने कथित तौर पर नुकसानदेह रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित करने की धमकी देकर यह पैसे मांगे थे। अग्रवाल, जिसके खिलाफ कई आपराधिक मामले दर्ज हैं, ने शिकायतकर्ता, तंजीर खान से संपर्क किया था और खुद को एक न्यूज़ प्लेटफॉर्म चलाने वाला बताकर 5 लाख रुपये की मांग की थी। खान ने पुलिस से सबूत के साथ संपर्क करने से पहले 50,000 रुपये ट्रांसफर कर दिए थे। जांचकर्ताओं ने तीन मोबाइल फोन और एक डायरी बरामद की है जिसमें वीडियो रिकॉर्ड करने के लिए एक गुप्त डिब्बा था।
