9 Arrested in Rs 9.24 Crore Embezzlement Case From Odisha R&B Dept

Vigilance officials in Bhubaneswar have arrested three more government employees in connection with the alleged embezzlement of over Rs 9.24 crore from the roads and buildings (R&B) department. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to nine. The fraud involved creating fake bills for retired employees to divert gratuity and other benefits. Investigators found that a senior accountant allegedly received Rs 3.9 lakh through online transactions to facilitate the fraudulent bills.

भुवनेश्वर में विजिलेंस अधिकारियों ने सड़कों और भवनों (R&B) विभाग से ₹9.24 करोड़ से अधिक के कथित गबन के संबंध में तीन और सरकारी कर्मचारियों को गिरफ्तार किया है। इस मामले में गिरफ्तार लोगों की कुल संख्या नौ हो गई है। इस धोखाधड़ी में सेवानिवृत्त कर्मचारियों के लिए ग्रेसिया और अन्य लाभों को डायवर्ट करने के लिए फर्जी बिल बनाए गए थे। जांचकर्ताओं ने पाया कि एक वरिष्ठ एकाउंटेंट ने कथित तौर पर फर्जी बिलों की सुविधा के लिए ऑनलाइन लेनदेन के माध्यम से ₹3.9 लाख प्राप्त किए।
