Director Nelson Dilipkumar has revealed that 'Jailer 2' will offer a distinct storytelling approach compared to the first film, despite retaining familiar characters and continuity. The sequel picks up immediately after the events of 'Jailer', incorporating new elements to provide audiences with a fresh experience. The film also expands its cast with notable actors like Mohanlal, Shivarajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, whose characters will integrate naturally into the narrative. Rajinikanth's character, Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, remains unchanged, aiming to replicate the success of the Rs 600 crore blockbuster.
