Thane residents can anticipate significant relief from traffic congestion within the next two years as major infrastructure projects, including Metro 4 and the coastal road, near completion. Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik stated that the Ghodbunder highway expansion will resume after Diwali, and the coastal road and Payegaon-Nagla Bunder link will divert heavy vehicles. The first phase of Metro 4, aiming for a December-end opening, will feature nine stations to ease congestion along the Ghodbunder highway.
