Mumbai Customs officials detained eight Kenyan women at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Sunday, suspecting them of smuggling gold. The women arrived from Sudan, and initial checks revealed approximately 300 grams of suspected gold in one woman's baggage. Officials suspect the others may be concealing gold internally and have sought court permission for X-ray examinations. Four to five women are reportedly pregnant, and they will be monitored during medical screening. Further action will depend on whether they expel suspected gold under medical supervision.
