IEA Chief Warns of Biggest Energy Crisis Ever
Al Jazeera · world
The head of the International Energy Agency (IEA) has declared the world is facing its biggest energy crisis ever, with little relief in sight after more than seven months. The US-Israel war on Iran has disrupted global shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, impacting 20 percent of the world's oil and LNG. This has led to soaring fuel prices, supply chain interruptions, and fears of shortages. Global oil stocks are declining rapidly, and strategic reserves have been tapped with only short-lived relief.
