चौबीस साल की दिलशादा रहान ने हैदराबाद यूनिवर्सिटी के छात्र संघ का अध्यक्ष बनकर इतिहास रच दिया है। वह 25 सालों में पहली मुस्लिम महिला हैं जिन्होंने यह पद जीता है। स्टूडेंट्स फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया की उम्मीदवार ने 2,178 वोट हासिल किए और अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी को 451 वोटों से हराया। रहान ने लेफ्ट गठबंधन की जीत का श्रेय छात्र एकता और बीजेपी विरोधी भावना को दिया, जो हाल के विरोध प्रदर्शनों से और बढ़ गई थी। उनके अभियान में मासिक धर्म अवकाश, मेस फीस और लैब शुल्क जैसे छात्र मुद्दों को संबोधित करने पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया गया था, और उन्होंने नीतिगत बदलावों के लिए लड़ने का वादा किया था।
