Loop Road Fishermen to Stage Black Flag Protest Over Proposed Secretariat

Fishermen from several villages along the Marina Loop Road will hold a black flag protest on Sunday to voice their strong opposition to the proposed Secretariat at Foreshore Estate. They are demanding the return of lands belonging to Mullikuppam and Mullimanagar for village expansion and the construction of new houses for residents whose homes are over 40 years old. Leaders stated that protests are being held because the government has not consulted them, despite them being the primary stakeholders.
