Gujarat Sailor Dies in Drone Attack Near Hormuz Strait; Burial Planned in Oman

A 25-year-old Indian sailor, Nahim Ajij Gandhar, from Gujarat's Devbhumi Dwarka district, died following a suspected drone attack on an Indian-flagged cargo vessel near the Strait of Hormuz. Gandhar was among the 14 crew members on the vessel, Al Jusufi, which was carrying dates from the UAE to Porbandar. The attack destroyed the vessel and its cargo. Due to delays in completing formalities, the sailor's family has decided to conduct his burial in Oman.
