VHP Leader Killing: NIA Arrests Accused Deported From UAE

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Harwinder Kumar alias Sonu, who was deported from the UAE, in connection with the targeted killing of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar. Prabhakar was shot dead at his shop in Punjab's Roopnagar in April 2024. The NIA investigation revealed that Harwinder, operating from the UAE, provided logistical support, arranged weapons, and facilitated their delivery to the shooters. He also allegedly received and transferred terror funds for the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI).

राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (एनआईए) ने विश्व हिंदू परिषद (वीएचपी) के नेता विकास प्रभाकर की लक्षित हत्या के संबंध में यूएई से प्रत्यर्पित हरविंदर कुमार उर्फ सोनू को गिरफ्तार किया है। प्रभाकर को अप्रैल 2024 में पंजाब के रोपड़ में उनकी दुकान पर गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी गई थी। एनआईए की जांच से पता चला कि यूएई से काम कर रहे हरविंदर ने शूटरों को लॉजिस्टिक सपोर्ट, हथियार की व्यवस्था और डिलीवरी की सुविधा दी थी। उस पर प्रतिबंधित बब्बर खालसा इंटरनेशनल (बीकेआई) के लिए आतंकी फंड प्राप्त करने और ट्रांसफर करने का भी आरोप है।
