CPI(M) March Towards State Election Commission Office Stopped by Police

Police in Patna halted CPI(M) activists and their youth and student wings at R-Block on Friday. The protesters were marching towards the State Election Commission office to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They cited alleged electoral irregularities and demanded the restoration of deleted names from electoral rolls. Demonstrators raised slogans against the Election Commission and the central government, questioning the electoral process. Heavy police presence and barricades were deployed to prevent the march from proceeding.

पटना में पुलिस ने शुक्रवार को आर-ब्लॉक पर CPI(M) कार्यकर्ताओं और उनके युवा व छात्र विंग को रोक दिया। प्रदर्शनकारी मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेंद्र कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर राज्य चुनाव आयोग कार्यालय की ओर मार्च कर रहे थे। उन्होंने कथित चुनावी अनियमितताओं का हवाला दिया और मतदाता सूची से हटाए गए नामों को बहाल करने की मांग की। प्रदर्शनकारियों ने चुनाव आयोग और केंद्र सरकार के खिलाफ नारे लगाए और चुनावी प्रक्रिया पर सवाल उठाए। मार्च को आगे बढ़ने से रोकने के लिए भारी पुलिस बल और बैरिकेडिंग की गई थी।
