Scientists have detected radio signals emanating from Beta Pictoris b, a gas giant exoplanet located approximately 63 light-years from Earth. Using the MeerKAT radio telescope, researchers pinpointed repeated radio bursts originating from the planet, a first for an exoplanet. These emissions are attributed to massive auroras caused by the planet's powerful magnetic field and rapid rotation, not alien life. This discovery offers a new method for studying exoplanets and provides the first direct measurement of an exoplanet's magnetic field strength.
