Drunk Driver Kills Nurse, Injures 17 in 5km Rampage

A 25-year-old nurse was killed and 17 others injured when an allegedly intoxicated SRTC bus driver went on a nearly five-kilometre rampage in Kushinagar district. The driver, identified as Ajit Vishwakarma, reportedly rammed into an auto-rickshaw and continued driving at high speed, hitting pedestrians and vehicles. Police intercepted the bus using barricades and arrested the driver, with a breathalyser test confirming alcohol influence. कुशीनगर जिले में कथित तौर पर नशे में धुत एक SRTC बस के ड्राइवर ने लगभग पांच किलोमीटर तक उत्पात मचाया, जिसमें एक 25 वर्षीय नर्स की मौत हो गई और 17 अन्य घायल हो गए। ड्राइवर, जिसकी पहचान अजीत विश्वकर्मा के रूप में हुई है, ने कथित तौर पर एक ऑटो-रिक्शा को टक्कर मारी और तेज गति से वाहन चलाते हुए राहगीरों और अन्य वाहनों को टक्कर मारता रहा। पुलिस ने बैरिकेड्स लगाकर बस को रोका और ड्राइवर को गिरफ्तार कर लिया, ब्रेथलाइज़र टेस्ट में शराब का असर पाया गया। मामले की परिस्थितियों और ड्राइवर के गंतव्य की जांच चल रही है।
