An Inter-Ministerial Group has recommended the sale of surplus land and buildings from state-run companies, valued at over ₹1,100 crore. These proposals will now be reviewed by the Alternative Mechanism for approval. This initiative aligns with the government's broader strategy to unlock the value of underutilised assets held by public sector enterprises. The National Land Monetisation Corporation expects to generate an additional ₹4,000-5,000 crore by the end of the fiscal year from surplus land sales. This effort supports the government's target for disinvestment and asset monetisation.
