CPM Condemns Centre's Crackdown on CJP Protesters, Announces Tamil Nadu Demonstrations

The CPM has strongly condemned the Union government's alleged crackdown on CJP protesters in Delhi, which included the detention of senior leaders and the siege of party offices. Protesters were demanding the removal of the Chief Election Commissioner. In response to what it called an assault on democratic rights, the CPM announced demonstrations at all district headquarters across Tamil Nadu. Several prominent Left leaders, including MA Baby and D Raja, were reportedly detained and driven around Delhi for over an hour without formal processing.
