Supreme Court Seeks Centre's Response On Alcohol Tetra Packs
Hindustan Times · india
The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to respond to a PIL challenging alcohol sales in tetra packs, which allegedly resemble fruit juice and could mislead minors. The court noted the Centre had not filed a response despite a notice issued in May. The petition argues that deceptive packaging with fruit names and images encourages underage drinking and poses public health risks. A packaging industry group opposed the plea, stating such packs are allowed in 10 states and prevent adulteration.
