Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has strongly criticised the government's reclamation of a sports complex at the Race Course Air Force Station, located near the Prime Minister's residence. This action follows a letter from outgoing Air Chief Marshal AP Singh to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, urging the protection of the Indian Air Force's control over the land. The Air Force Sports Complex, established in the 1940s, has served public purposes and is integral to the IAF's social infrastructure.
