Centre to Borrow ₹7.86 Trillion in H2FY27

The Indian government plans to borrow ₹7.86 trillion through dated securities during the second half of the fiscal year 2026-27, spanning October to March. This borrowing includes ₹15,000 crore from Sovereign Green Bonds. The finance ministry announced this plan on Friday. Earlier, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had proposed a total borrowing of ₹17.2 trillion in the Budget to fund the fiscal deficit, which is projected at 4.3 percent of the GDP, amounting to ₹16.9 trillion for the fiscal year.

सरकार अगले वित्तीय वर्ष 2026-27 के दूसरी छमाही (अक्टूबर से मार्च) में 7.86 लाख करोड़ रुपये उधार लेगी। इसमें 15,000 करोड़ रुपये Sovereign Green Bonds से होंगे। वित्त मंत्रालय ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी। बजट में वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने राजकोषीय घाटे को पूरा करने के लिए कुल 17.2 लाख करोड़ रुपये उधार लेने का प्रस्ताव रखा था। यह घाटा GDP का 4.3% यानी 16.9 लाख करोड़ रुपये रहने का अनुमान है।
