NGT Halts Tree Felling For Bengaluru's Hebbal Tunnel Project

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered a halt to tree felling for the Hebbal Short Tunnel Project in Bengaluru. This directive will remain in effect until the tribunal completes its hearing and disposes of the matter, with the next hearing scheduled for December 15. The order came after a civic group filed a petition, following The Hindu's report on the BDA proposal to remove over 1,128 trees.

नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल (NGT) ने बेंगलुरु में हेब्बल शॉर्ट टनल प्रोजेक्ट के लिए पेड़ काटने का आदेश रोक दिया है। यह रोक तब तक लागू रहेगी जब तक ट्रिब्यूनल सुनवाई पूरी करके मामले का निपटारा नहीं कर देता, अगली सुनवाई 15 दिसंबर को होगी। यह आदेश एक नागरिक समूह द्वारा याचिका दायर करने के बाद आया है, जिसमें BDA के 1,128 से ज़्यादा पेड़ हटाने के प्रस्ताव पर The Hindu की रिपोर्ट के बाद यह कदम उठाया गया।
