Maoists Convicted In Chhattisgarh Congress Ambush

A special NIA court in Jagdalpur has convicted 10 Maoists for their direct role in the 2013 Jhiram Ghati massacre. The ambush, which occurred around 4 pm, killed 29 people, including the entire top leadership of the Chhattisgarh Congress. The attack aimed to create fear and deter participation in elections. The trial, which began after 11 Maoists were arrested, spanned nearly 13 years. The convicts have been sentenced to death, pending high court confirmation.

जगदलपुर की एक विशेष NIA अदालत ने झीरम घाटी नरसंहार 2013 में सीधे तौर पर शामिल 10 माओवादियों को दोषी ठहराया है। इस हमले में छत्तीसगढ़ कांग्रेस के शीर्ष नेतृत्व सहित 29 लोग मारे गए थे। यह हमला चुनाव में डर पैदा करने और लोगों को भाग लेने से रोकने के लिए किया गया था। 11 माओवादियों की गिरफ्तारी के बाद शुरू हुई इस सुनवाई में करीब 13 साल लगे।
