Delhi University Considers ₹12,000 Crore Hostel Expansion Plan

Delhi University will hold an emergency executive council meeting on October 13 to consider a significant ₹12,000-crore proposal for hostel expansion. The plan aims to accommodate approximately 40,000 additional students and includes rebuilding three of the university's oldest hostels. This proposal was already approved by the finance committee and will now be presented to the executive council. The move follows a recent building collapse that highlighted the shortage of on-campus accommodation for students.
