Two Prisoners Escape Puzhal Jail; Seven Staffers Suspended Amid Security Lapses

Two prisoners, including a Nepalese national and a POCSO Act convict, have escaped from the high-security Puzhal central prison in Chennai within a 24-hour period. The first escapee, Sudeep Bogati, used solar power cables to scale the prison wall during heavy rain, while the second, Suresh, walked out during his work shift at the prison's Freedom Bazaar. Both have since been apprehended. Following the security breaches, DGP (prisons) Sandeep Rai Rathore inspected the facility, and seven jail personnel have been suspended for negligence.
