The Kerala government has officially informed the Lok Ayukta that it will not renew its helicopter service contract with Chipsan Aviation Pvt. Ltd. This decision comes amid allegations that Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan received undue pecuniary benefits from the operator. Social activist K.M. Shajahan had filed a petition alleging corruption and abuse of official position. The government, however, rejected these claims, stating the Chief Minister's travel was for disaster management coordination. The expired contract cost approximately ₹80 lakh monthly.
