Sebi Expands Bullion Vaulting Framework To ETFs

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has expanded its vaulting framework to include bullion underlying ETFs and derivatives, moving beyond Electronic Gold Receipts. This harmonises regulations for vault managers across various bullion-related instruments. Sebi also increased the net-worth requirement for vault managers from ₹50 crore to ₹75 crore. Enhanced security and segregation requirements are also introduced to strengthen safekeeping and governance.

भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड (Sebi) ने अब इलेक्ट्रॉनिक गोल्ड रिसीट्स (EGRs) के अलावा बुलियन-आधारित ईटीएफ (ETFs) और डेरिवेटिव्स को भी अपने वॉल्टिंग फ्रेमवर्क में शामिल कर लिया है। इससे बुलियन से जुड़े सभी साधनों के लिए वॉल्ट मैनेजरों के नियम एक जैसे हो जाएंगे। Sebi ने वॉल्ट मैनेजरों के लिए न्यूनतम नेट-वर्थ की ज़रूरत ₹50 करोड़ से बढ़ाकर ₹75 करोड़ कर दी है। सुरक्षा और प्रबंधन को बेहतर बनाने के लिए कड़े नियम भी लागू किए गए हैं।
