Chhattisgarh HC Rules Persistent Family Quarrels Constitute Mental Cruelty

The Chhattisgarh High Court has granted a divorce decree to a husband, ruling that persistent family disputes, distrust, and strained relations with his family constitute mental cruelty. The court overturned a lower family court's decision that had rejected the husband's divorce petition. The husband had alleged frequent quarrels, abusive language, and pressure for separate residence from his wife. While the wife denied these claims, the high court found the husband's testimony corroborated by witnesses.

छत्तीसगढ़ हाई कोर्ट ने एक पति को तलाक की मंजूरी दे दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि लगातार पारिवारिक झगड़े, अविश्वास और ससुराल वालों से खराब रिश्ते मानसिक क्रूरता हैं। कोर्ट ने निचली फैमिली कोर्ट के उस फैसले को पलट दिया जिसने पति की तलाक की अर्जी खारिज कर दी थी। पति ने आरोप लगाया था कि पत्नी से लगातार झगड़े होते थे, गाली-गलौज होती थी और अलग रहने का दबाव था। पत्नी ने इन बातों से इनकार किया, लेकिन हाई कोर्ट ने गवाहों के बयान से पति की बात को सही पाया।
