Election Commission Limits Bulk Deletion Requests To Curb Unsubstantiated Objections
Business Standard · politics
The Election Commission has imposed limits on individuals filing Form 7 applications to object to or request the deletion of names from electoral rolls. An individual elector can now submit a maximum of 10 such applications during the claims and objections period. For continuous updating of electoral rolls, the limit is five applications per month. This move aims to prevent the bulk filing of unsubstantiated objections, reduce voter inconvenience, and ease the workload for election officials across the country.
