FII Outflows Offset Inflows Since 2019

Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have seen outflows of $56 billion from Indian equities over the past two years, negating cumulative inflows since 2019. This has pushed decade-long cumulative flows close to zero, according to Motilal Oswal Financial Services. FIIs sold $25.6 billion in the current year and $18.8 billion in the previous year. Despite this, domestic institutional investors pumped a record $177 billion into equities over the same period, providing a cushion against FII selling.
