Disability Policy Revision Stuck for Decade

Ten years after the current disability law was passed, the government has yet to frame a revised National Policy for Persons with Disabilities. The existing policy dates back 20 years to 2006. Doctors with Disabilities: Agents of Change (DwDAoC) has written to the minister, highlighting the delay's impact on translating rights guaranteed under the RPDA Act, 2016, and UN conventions into a coordinated framework.

विकलांगता नीति संशोधन एक दशक से अटका

दिव्यांगजन अधिकार अधिनियम, 2016 लागू हुए दस साल हो गए, लेकिन सरकार ने दिव्यांग व्यक्तियों के लिए संशोधित राष्ट्रीय नीति अभी तक नहीं बनाई है। मौजूदा नीति 2006 की है, यानी 20 साल पुरानी। डॉक्टर्स विद डिसएबिलिटीज (DwDAoC) ने मंत्री को पत्र लिखकर इस देरी पर चिंता जताई है। उनका कहना है कि इससे RPDA एक्ट और UN सम्मेलनों के तहत मिले अधिकारों को लागू करने में दिक्कत आ रही है।
