This fraudulent practice has led to significant financial losses for many individuals who believed they were making legitimate property purchases. कश्मीर में अधिकारियों ने करोड़ों रुपये की ज़मीन धोखाधड़ी की योजना का खुलासा किया है, जहाँ प्रॉपर्टी ब्रोकर अवैध रूप से ज़मीन के एक ही प्लॉट को बार-बार बेच रहे थे। जांच से पता चला है कि म्यूटेशन रद्द होने के बाद ब्रोकर ज़मीन के नए एक्सट्रैक्ट प्राप्त कर लेते हैं, जिससे वे अनजान खरीदारों को एक ही संपत्ति कई बार बेच पाते हैं। इस धोखाधड़ी वाली प्रथा के कारण कई ऐसे व्यक्तियों को भारी वित्तीय नुकसान हुआ है, जो वैध संपत्ति खरीद का विश्वास रखते थे। इस खुलासे से क्षेत्र में ज़मीन के सौदेबाजी प्रणाली में भ्रष्टाचार और धोखे की गंभीर समस्या उजागर हुई है।
