Jaishankar Warns of Global Food Crisis

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has warned of a potential major food crisis due to ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Iran-Gulf region. He stated that these conflicts, combined with existing fertiliser shortages and energy pressures, are creating significant stress for economies in the Global South. Jaishankar highlighted concerns over oil supplies and rising prices, noting that major grain exporters may struggle to ship goods, particularly from the Black Sea.

विदेश मंत्री एस जयशंकर ने यूक्रेन और ईरान-खाड़ी क्षेत्र में चल रहे संघर्षों के कारण बड़े खाद्य संकट की आशंका जताई है। उन्होंने कहा कि इन संघर्षों के साथ-साथ उर्वरकों की मौजूदा कमी और ऊर्जा दबाव के कारण ग्लोबल साउथ की अर्थव्यवस्थाओं पर काफी दबाव पड़ रहा है। जयशंकर ने तेल आपूर्ति और बढ़ती कीमतों पर चिंता जताई, यह देखते हुए कि प्रमुख अनाज निर्यातक देशों को माल भेजने में कठिनाई हो सकती है, खासकर काला सागर क्षेत्र से।
