He explained that his remarks were part of a scripted, light-hearted conversation intended to be humorous, similar to his 'Gandhigiri' concept in Munna Bhai. Dutt stated it was never his intention to hurt sentiments and that his words were taken out of context. He expressed a desire for the days of love and togetherness to return.
