Wake Forest University's annual Hit the Bricks event has achieved a new fundraising milestone, drawing 2,406 participants and raising nearly $407,000 for cancer research and patient care. This year's event surpassed previous records for both participation and funds raised, with participants completing 11,862 laps. Since its inception in 2003, the student-run initiative has now accumulated over $2.1 million for the Brian Piccolo Cancer Research Fund. The funds support vital research and patient services at the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
