Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined a meeting request from Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and MP Rahul Gandhi. The leaders wished to discuss allegations of "vote chori" and seek the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner. The CJI stated that such a meeting would violate the principle of separation of powers, as similar issues are pending before the Supreme Court. He advised the party to file a petition, assuring it would receive priority hearing on the judicial side.
