Matrimony Platform Fined Rs 37,000 For Unsuitable Profiles

A Kerala consumer commission has ordered a matrimonial agency to refund Rs 7,000 and pay Rs 30,000 in compensation and costs to a Dubai-based client. The agency was found guilty of unfair trade practices after failing to provide personalised matchmaking assistance as promised. Despite paying Rs 7,000 for a higher-priced package, the client repeatedly received unsuitable profiles and eventually ceased receiving meaningful assistance. The commission directed the platform to stop misleading consumers with false assurances of personalised services.

केरल के एक उपभोक्ता आयोग ने एक मैट्रिमोनियल एजेंसी को दुबई स्थित एक ग्राहक को ₹7,000 वापस करने और ₹30,000 का मुआवजा और लागत देने का आदेश दिया है। एजेंसी को वादे के अनुसार व्यक्तिगत मैचमेकिंग सहायता प्रदान करने में विफल रहने के बाद अनुचित व्यापार प्रथाओं का दोषी पाया गया। उच्च-मूल्य वाले पैकेज के लिए ₹7,000 का भुगतान करने के बावजूद, ग्राहक को बार-बार अयोग्य प्रोफाइल मिले और अंततः उसे कोई सार्थक सहायता नहीं मिली। आयोग ने प्लेटफॉर्म को व्यक्तिगत सेवाओं के झूठे वादों से उपभोक्ताओं को गुमराह करना बंद करने का निर्देश दिया।
