US President Donald Trump has extended the USD 1,00,000 fee for employers using H-1B visas by one year. This fee, first imposed in 2025, was set to expire this month. The White House stated the extension protects US economic interests and improves labour market access for American workers. Trump also issued a separate proclamation to enhance scrutiny of H-1B applications, directing agencies to consider recent layoffs of US workers by sponsoring employers.
