Tanker with 27 Indian Seafarers Targeted by Limpet Mines in Strait of Hormuz

A Panama-flagged oil tanker carrying 27 Indian seafarers was targeted with limpet mines in the Strait of Hormuz on October 30. This marks the first known successful use of such explosives against a vessel in the area since the US-Iran war began in February. The attack caused a fire in the engine room, temporarily disabling the vessel, but the fire was extinguished and the tanker continued its journey. All 29 Indian crew members aboard two targeted tankers on October 29 and 30 are reported safe with no injuries.
