Lucknow University Departments Differ On Election Holiday Exam Schedule

Confusion arose at Lucknow University on Friday as some departments conducted mid-term examinations despite a holiday declared for the Legislative Council election. While the faculty of law and engineering held exams, the social work department postponed theirs. Students expressed frustration over the lack of uniform adherence to the holiday order. A university spokesperson clarified that department heads make such decisions autonomously, as universities are autonomous bodies and not directly included in regional holiday orders.

विधान परिषद चुनाव के लिए घोषित अवकाश के बावजूद कुछ विभागों द्वारा मध्यावधि परीक्षा आयोजित किए जाने के कारण शुक्रवार को लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय में भ्रम की स्थिति पैदा हो गई। विधि और इंजीनियरिंग संकाय ने परीक्षाएँ आयोजित कीं, जबकि समाज कार्य विभाग ने अपनी परीक्षाएँ स्थगित कर दीं। छात्रों ने अवकाश आदेश के एक समान पालन न होने पर निराशा व्यक्त की। विश्वविद्यालय के एक प्रवक्ता ने स्पष्ट किया कि विभाग प्रमुख ऐसे निर्णय स्वायत्त रूप से लेते हैं, क्योंकि विश्वविद्यालय स्वायत्त निकाय होते हैं और क्षेत्रीय अवकाश आदेशों में सीधे शामिल नहीं होते हैं।
