Tennis Legend Leander Paes to Contest AITA Vice-Presidential Election

Tennis icon Leander Paes has announced his candidacy for the sole vice-president post in the upcoming All India Tennis Association (AITA) elections on November 27. Interim AITA president Chintan Parikh revealed Paes's decision, stating that Parikh himself will contest for the president's position. Paes, who is also the president of the Bengal Tennis Association, will be part of a team aiming to lead the national tennis body. This move comes as Grand Slam winners Mahesh Bhupathi and Sania Mirza have also filed their nominations for AITA positions.

टेनिस आइकन लिएंडर पेस ने 27 नवंबर को होने वाले अखिल भारतीय टेनिस संघ (AITA) के चुनावों में एकमात्र उपाध्यक्ष पद के लिए अपनी उम्मीदवारी की घोषणा की है। अंतरिम AITA अध्यक्ष चिंटन पारेख ने पेस के फैसले का खुलासा किया, और कहा कि पारेख खुद अध्यक्ष पद के लिए चुनाव लड़ेंगे। बंगाल टेनिस एसोसिएशन के अध्यक्ष पेस, राष्ट्रीय टेनिस निकाय का नेतृत्व करने वाली टीम का हिस्सा होंगे। यह कदम ऐसे समय में आया है जब ग्रैंड स्लैम विजेता महेश भूपति और सानिया मिर्जा ने भी AITA पदों के लिए अपने नामांकन दाखिल किए हैं।
