Phoenix has launched a new initiative to combat homelessness among seniors by converting shipping containers into transitional housing. The Senior Bridge project, located at 28th and Van Buren streets, provides 40 individual 160-square-foot units for adults aged 55 and older. Each unit includes essential amenities and private bathrooms. The city contributed $750,000 to this first phase, with plans for 56 more affordable units in the second phase.
