Yasin Malik, Engineer Rashid to be tried in Rs 8.94 Crore Hawala Funding Case

A Delhi court has ordered a trial for jailed separatist leader Yasin Malik, Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, and five others in an Rs 8.94 crore money laundering case. The Enforcement Directorate alleges the funds were received from Pakistan through hawala channels to fund secessionist activities in Jammu and Kashmir. The court observed that the evidence raised strong suspicion of their involvement. The case stems from a 2017 NIA investigation into alleged funding for subversive activities.

दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने जेल में बंद अलगाववादी नेता यासीन मलिक, बारामूला के सांसद इंजीनियर राशिद और पांच अन्य लोगों के खिलाफ ₹8.94 करोड़ के मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले में मुकदमा चलाने का आदेश दिया है। प्रवर्तन निदेशालय का आरोप है कि जम्मू-कश्मीर में अलगाववादी गतिविधियों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए पाकिस्तान से हवाला के ज़रिए यह पैसा मिला था। अदालत ने कहा कि सबूतों से उनके शामिल होने का पुख्ता शक पैदा होता है। यह मामला 2017 में NIA की जांच से जुड़ा है, जिसमें कथित तौर पर देश-विरोधी गतिविधियों के लिए फंडिंग की गई थी।
