Samruddhi Expressway Sees 128 Deaths in 8 Months

The Samruddhi Expressway has recorded 128 deaths in 142 accidents between January and August this year, surpassing the total fatalities for 2024. State police data reveals that the expressway saw 173 deaths in 2025 and 126 deaths in 2024. In contrast, the Mumbai-Pune Expressway reported significantly fewer casualties, with 39 deaths in 105 accidents during the same eight-month period. An increase in vehicular traffic is cited as a primary reason for the rising accident rates on the Samruddhi Expressway.

इस साल जनवरी से अगस्त के बीच समृद्धि एक्सप्रेसवे पर 142 दुर्घटनाओं में 128 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है। यह संख्या 2024 के कुल मृतकों से ज़्यादा है। राज्य पुलिस के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, 2025 में एक्सप्रेसवे पर 173 मौतें और 2024 में 126 मौतें हुई थीं। वहीं, इसी आठ महीने की अवधि में मुंबई-पुणे एक्सप्रेसवे पर 105 दुर्घटनाओं में 39 लोगों की जान गई। समृद्धि एक्सप्रेसवे पर बढ़ती दुर्घटनाओं की मुख्य वजह वाहनों की बढ़ी हुई संख्या बताई जा रही है।
