Tamil Nadu Govt. Increases Monthly Food Allowance For Students In Hostels

The Tamil Nadu government has approved an increase in the monthly food allowance for students residing in hostels run by the Social Justice Department. This revised rate will benefit students in school, college, and residential institutions across the state. For school students, the allowance will rise from ₹1,400 to ₹1,800, while college students will see an increase from ₹1,500 to ₹2,000 per month. The government has allocated ₹29.41 crore for the implementation of this enhanced scheme, which aims to improve the living standards for thousands of students.
